The Vancouver Canucks announced Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson, Filip Hronek, Drew O’Connor, Linus Karlsson and Zeev Buium as alternate captains for the 2026-27 season.
The Story
The Vancouver Canucks announced Tuesday that six players will wear an “A” as alternate captains during the 2026-27 season, with three named for home games and three for road games.
For road games, Brock Boeser, Elias Pettersson and Zeev Buium will serve as alternate captains. At home, Filip Hronek, Linus Karlsson and Drew O’Connor will wear an “A”.
The club did not name a captain for the season, instead distributing alternate-captain responsibilities among the six players.
Boeser, Pettersson and Hronek previously wore an alternate captain “A” last season, while the group also includes O’Connor, Karlsson and Buium. The Canucks noted Pettersson has been the longest-serving alternate captain at four seasons, while Boeser has worn the “A” for two seasons.
The team also pointed to Karlsson and Buium as youth representatives within its leadership group. It referenced Karlsson’s role in the Abbotsford Canucks’ Calder Cup run and said Buium signed an eight-year contract extension earlier this month.
