Abbotsford man David Massie Douglas sentenced to eight years for historical child sex offences

Abbotsford Police say David Massie Douglas, 65, was sentenced to eight years in prison for offences involving the sexual exploitation of children.

The Story

The Abbotsford Police Department says its investigation began in March 2023 after a historic sexual assault allegation was reported to AbbyPD.

Police say Douglas was arrested on Nov. 30, 2023 in relation to offences that occurred between 2013 and 2021 across multiple jurisdictions.

In a statement released Friday, AbbyPD says Douglas was sentenced on Oct. 27 to eight years in prison for two counts of sexual interference and one count of possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material.

Police say their various departments worked together to gather evidence and identify a suspect, leading to Douglas.
