The Story
Seattle released running back Velus Jones Jr. on Friday afternoon, then subsequently signed him back to its practice squad, the team announced Nov. 6, 2026.
The transaction comes as the Seahawks look ahead to their home matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals.
Jones has appeared in six games for Seattle in 2026, recording 28 yards on nine carries.
The Seahawks enter Week 9 with several key injuries, including quarterback Sam Darnold (quad), guard Quenton Nelson (knee), defensive tackle Leonard Williams (stinger) and outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (ankle), along with a wide receiver who has been ruled out against Arizona; those starters are not expected to play versus the Cardinals.
