Seattle has added quarterback Adrian Martinez to its practice squad after his time with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Story
The Seattle Seahawks have signed former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Adrian Martinez to their practice squad, according to a Nov. 4, 2026 post by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo’s report said the Seahawks added Martinez to their practice squad after he worked out with the Ravens earlier in the week.
Martinez spent the 2025 season and the 2026 offseason with the 49ers before being waived on Aug. 30, as the team trimmed its roster to the required 53 players.
With San Francisco, Martinez competed for the QB3 role behind Brock Purdy and Mac Jones, but the 49ers ultimately awarded the spot to second-year quarterback Kurtis Rourke, despite Rourke appearing in just one preseason game.
Martinez entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions in 2023 and also spent time with the New York Jets.
Through the 2025 regular season, Martinez has appeared in one NFL game with the 49ers, has yet to attempt a pass, and has played one snap—taking a knee for the final play in a game against the New York Giants.
