The Story
British Columbians voted on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, for the 2026 B.C. municipal election, with live results being made available during Global BC’s election special.
The special will air live from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. PT on Global BC, BC1, Global Okanagan, CKNW and STACKTV, and it will also be livestreamed at the top of the results page and on the Global BC YouTube channel.
Chris Gailus, Sophie Lui and Keith Baldrey are hosting the program, with Ben O’Hara-Byrne providing live results throughout the broadcast.
The coverage includes reporting from the field around the Lower Mainland and Kelowna, and CKNW host Jas Johal will host a panel of experts for analysis and insight.
The election covers contests for mayors and municipal councillors, regional district directors, school board trustees, park boards in Vancouver, and the Cultus Lake and the Islands Trust. The interactive results table is designed to update automatically when a candidate is projected as the winner.
