Pattison Food Group says unusual activity on a server led to confirmed access to some customers’ personal information in the More Rewards database.
The Story
Pattison Food Group, which operates the More Rewards loyalty program through its Save-On-Foods, Buy-Low Foods, PriceSmart Foods and Nesters stores, says it detected unusual activity on one of its servers on Tuesday and brought in a third-party cybersecurity expert after the server was taken down.
In a statement, the company said it confirmed Friday that customers’ personal information on the More Rewards database was accessed.
The company said the information includes a customer’s name and, if provided, address, phone number, email addresses and date of birth.
It also said that, based on the information available to it, no other personal information—such as passwords, credit card data or transaction history—was accessed, and that More Rewards accounts remain secure.
Pattison Food Group did not say how many customers were affected.
