Le Petit Chef & The Magical Cooking Book is a new four-course, immersive 3D dining experience offered through private events at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond.
The Story
The Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond is offering Le Petit Chef & The Magical Cooking Book, an immersive 3D dining experience that combines a four-course meal with a new show in the hotel’s private event space.
The experience runs for about two hours and uses immersive 3D projection mapping to place a tiny animated chef directly on guests’ tables and plates as the story unfolds before each course is served.
A team of projectors mounted above the tables creates mapped animations that interact with the tabletop and plate, showing the chef preparing ingredients, overcoming challenges and bringing each course to life.
Guests follow a whimsical narrative featuring magical recipes, unexpected surprises and memorable characters throughout the meal, with a new chapter introduced as each course arrives.
Guests can choose from classic, vegetarian, gluten-free and kids’ menu options, with each course tied to the storytelling sequence.
In explaining the concept, Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel general manager Yannick Simovich said the show is designed to create memorable moments and that Le Petit Chef blends storytelling, technology, entertainment and food in a way that appeals to a wide range of guests.
Simovich also said the experience is best appreciated in person, noting that photos and videos do not capture the atmosphere when the story begins and the entire table comes to life.
The hotel says the show is available for private group bookings and for guests seeking a different kind of outing for families, friends, couples and celebrations.
