Vancouver records turnout on first day of advanced voting with 59 polling stations open

Vancouver’s first advanced voting day on Oct. 3 saw 21,824 people vote across 59 polling stations.

Vancouver’s first day of advanced voting took place on Oct. 3, with 59 polling stations open across the city.

The City of Vancouver reported that 21,824 people voted on Saturday, a 196 per cent increase compared with the first advance day in 2022. In a statement, the city said, “Together, we achieved a new record for advance voting.”

Advanced voting will continue on Oct. 7, Oct. 10 and Oct. 13, with polls open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The city also reported a record number of vote-by-mail requests, with more than 18,000 vote-by-mail packages requested, an increase of more than 70 per cent over 2022.

Election day is Oct. 17, and a list of polling locations is available online.
