Talize to close its Delta thrift store after 21 years

Talize says its Delta thrift store will close on Monday, Nov. 23 after 21 years of operation.

The Story

Talize posted what it called “difficult news” about its thrift store in Delta, saying the location will shut down on Monday, Nov. 23 after 21 years.

In a statement, the Toronto-based company said the Delta store, which opened in 2005, has been one of its longest-standing locations. Talize added that, over the years, customers have “made this store so much more than a place to shop,” including donating items, discovering second-hand treasures and helping build a community.

According to Talize’s website, the store sells donated clothing, shoes, accessories, homeware and books, along with toys and other items, “all while contributing to the health and sustainability of our planet.”

Talize also thanked its fans and encouraged shoppers to attend a store closing sale that begins on Saturday, Oct. 3. The company said it hopes to see customers in the store before it closes, and said shoppers can also continue visiting its Langley location.

For shoppers looking for another option locally, Talize pointed to Value Village’s newest store on the North Shore, noting that the chain’s first location in North Vancouver is located inside the previous Ginger Jar Furniture location just off Marine Drive at 1420 Fell Ave.
