Macdonald gives injury updates on Rashid Shaheed and Charles Cross after Seahawks’ Week 7 win

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said early returns for Rashid Shaheed’s knee injury are positive and that Charles Cross’s ankle injury is pending imaging after Seattle’s 20-3 win over the Chiefs.

The Story

The day after the Seahawks’ 20-3 victory over the Chiefs, head coach Mike Macdonald made his weekly appearance on Seattle Sports 710 AM and provided several injury updates from the team’s Week 7 game.

Macdonald said receiver Rashid Shaheed exited the win and did not return with a knee injury, adding, “Rashid, early returns are positive.” He noted that when a knee injury is involved, “you’re holding your breath,” and said, “right now, let's just say it's positive.”

The coach also addressed left tackle Charles Cross, who exited Sunday’s game with an ankle injury and did not return. Macdonald said the team is still waiting on imaging on Cross’s ankle, and he did not have an update at that stage.

Macdonald discussed running back Zach Charbonnet as well, indicating the Seahawks are following their plan for his return as they prepare for Week 8 against the Bears. He said Charbonnet is scheduled to practice in a full capacity before Seattle evaluates further, adding that the timing remains about nine months out from ACL surgery.

Finally, Macdonald said rookie running back Jadarian Price—eligible to come off injured reserve—will return to practice this week. He said the team’s approach is to have Price practice first and then determine his game status later.
