NHL.com releases top 10 rookie rankings for standard fantasy hockey leagues in 2026-27

NHL.com has released its top 10 rookie rankings for standard fantasy hockey leagues for the 2026-27 season, ranking eligible rookies by how they fit typical fantasy categories such as goals, assists, shots on goal, and other team-impact factors. NHL.com also states the players on the list are Calder Trophy eligible, with the Calder Trophy awarded annually to the best rookie in the NHL by the Professional Hockey Writers Association.

The rankings begin with Philadelphia Flyers forward Porter Martone, the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, followed by Toronto Maple Leafs forward Gavin McKenna, who was selected No. 1 in the 2026 NHL Draft. Washington Capitals defenseman Cole Hutson is ranked third, ahead of Chicago Blackhawks forward Anton Frondell, who went No. 3 in the 2025 NHL Draft.

NHL.com lists San Jose Sharks forward Ivar Stenberg at No. 5 and Buffalo Sabres forward Konsta Helenius at No. 6. Rounding out the top 10 are Chicago forward Roman Kantserov at No. 7, Boston Bruins forward James Hagens at No. 8, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler at No. 9, and New York Islanders forward Victor Eklund at No. 10.

Alongside its top 10, NHL.com also names several additional rookie-eligible players it says fantasy managers may want to consider, including prospects and draft picks across teams such as Anaheim, Carolina, Chicago, and Montreal, plus multiple defensemen and goaltenders.
