Lions Bay Search and Rescue responded to an injured hiker on Mount Brunswick and coordinated a helicopter hoist extraction with North Shore Rescue.
The Story
Lions Bay Search and Rescue (SAR) made a rescue off Mount Brunswick on Saturday afternoon.
Two teenage girls were hiking down the mountain when one slipped on loose rock and injured her ankle.
SAR said the injured ankle was unable to take weight and, due to the difficult terrain, requested helicopter hoist extraction support from North Shore Rescue.
The teens stabilized the ankle while they waited, using a first aid kit that included an instant ice pack and tensor bandages.
According to SAR, the two teens were taken off the mountain via Talon helicopters.
