Burdy has opened a new Granville Island location at 1441 Anderson St. following the closure of its food bus in July 2025.

The Story

Burdy has opened a new restaurant on Granville Island, marking the next step after the closure of its chicken parm sandwich bus in July 2025. Owners said the new spot began a soft opening on Friday, Oct. 2, with service running Friday, Saturday and Sunday until they sold out.

The new Granville Island location is at 1441 Anderson St. in the Chain and Forge building. In a post about the opening, the owners wrote, "It's finally happening."

Burdy’s bus closed in July 2025, but the ownership group said the brand was not going away. Last summer, they wrote, "We also have some amazing news to share… this is not the end for Burdy, in fact it’s the beginning of something VERY exciting," as part of their plan to continue the business.

After a quieter period, Burdy announced in January that it would open a new location on Granville Island, with hopes to launch in late spring. The opening was delayed by a few months before the Oct. 2 soft opening.

The menu at the new location includes Burdy’s chicken parm sandwich, an eggplant version, and other lunch and breakfast sandwiches. The shop is also offering pizza pockets and fries.
