Mott 32 in Vancouver was ranked number one in Canada in the Chinese Restaurant Awards’ Elite 30 Canada list.

A Vancouver restaurant has topped a national ranking for Chinese dining, as the Chinese Restaurant Awards released its Elite 30 Canada Awards for 2026. Mott 32 was named number one in the overall list, with the award specifying that it holds the top position for both its Vancouver and Toronto locations.
In the Elite 30 release, the awards said the goal was to give diners a fuller picture of Chinese dining across Canada. The ranked list was selected by a Canada Taste Advisors Panel chaired by founding judge Lee Man. The awards also tied each restaurant to recommended dishes identified by the panel, designed to help diners decide what to order.
Mott 32’s Vancouver listing appears first in the Elite 30 Canada ranking alongside Toronto, where the same restaurant group also operates. Other restaurants in the national top tier in the Elite 30 include Dynasty Seafood Restaurant in Vancouver (ranked No. 3), iDen & Quan Ju De Beijing Duck House in Vancouver (ranked No. 12) and Chang’An Restaurant in Vancouver (ranked No. 7), alongside multiple Richmond and Toronto-area favourites.
The announcement also offered detail on selection categories beyond the overall ranking. The awards named Wu Zhen Jun of Mott 32 in Vancouver as “Dim Sum Chef of the Year.” The Chinese Restaurant Awards also presented a “Premier Visionary Award of the Year,” which was awarded to Lee Man, described as the founding judge of the awards.
The Elite 30 Canada list was produced following earlier publication of a larger set of honourees, with the release noting that many of those honourees were based in Vancouver or Richmond. In total, the Elite 30 Canada list includes restaurants from across the country, including locations in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec, reflecting a range of regional Chinese cuisines and styles.
The Chinese Restaurant Awards’ selection process also included Signature Dish Awards that the organization said had previously been exclusive to Vancouver before expanding across Canada this year. Among the signature dishes listed, several were tied to Vancouver-area restaurants, including a roast suckling pig made to order from Chinatown BBQ in Vancouver and deep fried chicken wing with sour plum from Landmark Hotpot House in Vancouver. Other Vancouver-area dish selections include a braised pork hock at Kalvin’s Szechuan Restaurant in Vancouver, roast and hotpot offerings from Richmond and Vancouver operators, and a Sliced Fatty Beef Rice Roll from Hei Hei Rice Roll in Richmond.
In Vancouver’s broader Chinese dining scene, the Elite 30 list highlights a mix of Cantonese, dim sum, hot pot, and regional cuisine offerings across the region. It also places several Richmond restaurants prominently in the top rankings, including Flavourful House and Bamboo Grove, both listed in the Elite 30 top 10, as well as Chang’An Restaurant’s Vancouver presence and multiple Richmond operators that appear later in the list.
The awards release said the 2026 results offer a snapshot of the “depth and diversity” of Chinese and Taiwanese dining across Canada. By placing Mott 32 at the top of the national Elite 30 list, the organization has positioned the Vancouver restaurant alongside its Toronto counterpart as Canada’s number one in the awards’ overall ranking.
