Seawall Classic reveals 2026 finisher medal design inspired by Vancouver’s sunset

The Vancouver Seawall Classic medal for 2026 will feature deep blues, a hint of sunset and the shape of Siwash Rock.

The Story

Organizers of the Vancouver Seawall Classic have unveiled the event’s 2026 finisher medal design, describing it as inspired by the sunset runners see along the water. Daniel Simpson, founder of Kamino Running Co., said the design uses deep blues to represent Vancouver’s shoreline and “the feeling of running along the Seawall,” along with “the unmistakable shape of Siwash Rock.”

Simpson said the medal’s design draws on landmarks that tie the race to Stanley Park, including the seawall and Siwash Rock. He also said the same colour palette is reflected in the race shirt, which was designed to be worn again after race day.

The 2026 Seawall Classic takes place Oct. 17 at Second Beach in Stanley Park. The 10K start is set for 10 a.m., followed by a free 1K kids race.

Simpson said the goal is for the medal to be specific to the race route and that the event has shifted since its launch in 2025, when it was initially called the Seawall Race and is now the Seawall Classic. He added that organizers aim for runners to collect a medal each year, resulting in a different snapshot of the race over time.

Registration for the Seawall Classic medal is available through the Kamino Running website.
