U.S. President Donald Trump says he has offered UFC executive Dana White the White House press secretary job and asked several UFC figures to join him as communications assistants.
The Story
U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly offered the job of White House press secretary to UFC executive Dana White, announcing the proposal on his Truth Social platform and urging White to “take the job!”
In the post, Trump described White as “the Great Dana White” and said White has been “offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States.” Trump also wrote that he wants White to bring a contingent of prominent mixed martial artists to the administration to serve as communications assistants.
Trump specifically named current and former UFC champions Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harris as part of the group he said White should include.
Trump acknowledged that several of the requested fighters are foreign nationals and said their presence in the executive branch is necessary to “defend us against the Lunatic Left,” adding that White would be “a Press Secretary like none other.”
The offer comes shortly after Trump fired his previous press secretary, Katie Zacharia. Trump removed Zacharia on Oct. 16, 2026, after she had been appointed on Oct. 9 and started the role officially on Oct. 12.
Zacharia delivered her first and only press briefing on Oct. 13, which lasted about 14 minutes, before being ousted three days later.
Trump also announced an additional senior staffing change alongside the communications shake-up. He said hardline immigration architect Stephen Miller will replace chief of staff Susie Wiles starting Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, with Wiles transitioning to the “Trump Political Operation.”
The president said the move follows a midterm election period and thanked Wiles for her service.
