The Story
Vancouver hardcore outfit PISS has been featured on Seattle music platform KEXP after performing at the outlet’s headquarters at the University of Washington in late June.
Footage of the KEXP set was uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and had amassed close to 75,000 views by the time of publication.
The band is also preparing to release its first full-length album, you made me / skin on linen, on Oct. 30 through Sub Pop. Sub Pop’s news release describes the record as reflecting “a childhood shaped by structural, systemic and intimate violence,” and says that art-making motifs in the album act as metaphors for how the effects of that violence are carried and can “gradually” create or deform the self.
An official video for “blocking a scene you can’t remember,” from the forthcoming release, was posted Sept. 29.
PISS is set to leave next week for a two-week North American tour as direct support for Dublin post-punk group Gilla Band, including a Halloween show at The Pearl in Vancouver. The band will then play a run of northern European dates during the first two weeks of November.
