Seven Seahawks players ruled out by injury headline Seattle’s inactive list for Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals at Lumen Field.
The Story
The Seattle Seahawks have designated seven players as inactive due to injury for their Week 9 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Lumen Field.
Inactives for the Seahawks are quarterback Sam Darnold (quadricep/ribs), left tackle Charles Cross (ankle), left guard Quenton Nelson (knee), defensive tackle Leonard Williams (stinger), outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (ankle), receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee) and nose tackle Brandon Pili (back).
Outside linebacker Connor O’Toole, who was listed as questionable with a foot injury, is active. The Seahawks’ injury report also included players who will miss the game, including Williams, Nelson, Cross and Shaheed.
With Williams ruled out, Seattle signed rookie nose tackle Deven Eastern from its practice squad to add depth on the defensive line.
The Seahawks also elevated tackle Bobby Hart and receiver Montorie Foster Jr. from the practice squad to provide additional depth with Cross and Shaheed sidelined.
Seattle said Nelson is week-to-week and will have what head coach Mike Macdonald called a “minor procedure” on his knee. With Nelson out, Grey Zabel is set to return to left guard, while Anthony Bradford is expected to return to the starting lineup at right guard.
For the Cardinals, left tackle Jayden Williams (knee), right guard Jon Gaines II (ankle) and running back Bam Knight (concussion) are inactive.
Arizona has also listed guard Isaiah Adams (ankle), cornerback Max Melton (knee) and defensive tackle Walter Nolen III (ankle) as active after they were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
