Steeped in Sound brings tea-inspired music to Vancouver’s Chinese Garden

Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble presents a November 21 afternoon concert at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, hosted by Ginalina.

The Story

A November afternoon in Chinatown will pair live music with a theme drawn from Chinese tea. Vancouver Chinese Music Ensemble is bringing Steeped in Sound to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden on Saturday, November 21, 2026, with the event listed for 2–4 p.m.

The concert combines traditional Chinese instruments, Canadian musical influences and contemporary improvisation. Rather than a single musical style, the programme promises a meeting of sounds, including erhu, guzheng, ruan, percussion and bagpipe.

Ginalina will host the afternoon. The organizer’s English programme names Jirong Huang, Sarah Yusha Tan, Zhongxi Wu, Xiaoqi Feng, Sijia Huang and Bruce Henczel among the performers.

The venue is at 578 Carrall Street in Vancouver. The organizer directs concertgoers to the Carrall Street side entrance and says concert admission includes access to the garden.

For tickets and current pricing, use the event’s Showpass listing. Check the organizer’s event page for programme updates before heading out. The listed 2–4 p.m. event window should not be read as a promise of two uninterrupted hours of performance.
