Vancouver-area foot-health entrepreneurs Meryl and Mick Baker to pitch on Dragons’ Den this week

Meryl and Mick Baker, a Vancouver-based couple behind Spacer Mobility and Nunorm products, will appear on Dragons’ Den after building a business that has served more than 200,000 customers with over $15 million in lifetime sales.

The Story

Married-couple business duo Meryl and Mick Baker will appear on Dragons’ Den to pitch their suite of foot-health products and minimalist shoes.

The couple’s businesses, including Spacer Mobility and Nunorm products, have served more than 200,000 customers and generated over $15 million in lifetime sales, according to the information provided about their company.

Based in Vancouver, the Bakers moved to West Vancouver with their two kids around a year ago and say their company has five warehouses around the world producing their products.

They started their entrepreneurship about eight years ago in response to Meryl’s foot and knee pain, and initially built the business around toe spacers.

Meryl said CrossFitters helped connect their products with customers, and the company has focused largely on direct-to-consumer sales.

The Bakers said one reason for appearing on the show is to increase their retail footprint in Canada, noting they do not have investors.

Their Dragons’ Den segment is scheduled to air on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. PCT, and their products are sold online and in select stores including Health Essentials in Victoria, Little Foot Shoe Co. in Salmon Arm, and Sole Freedom in Ottawa.
