L.A.-based improv saxophonist Nathanialpov will perform two free pop-up sets—one in a Tofino cave on Oct. 8 and one in the Vancouver Public Library courtyard on Oct. 9.
The Story
L.A.-based improvisational saxophone player Nathanialpov is returning to the South Coast for two free pop-up performances, featuring tenor or soprano sax improv in unusual settings.
The first show is on Thursday, Oct. 8, when he will play again in a cave in Tofino at 6:30 p.m. for one hour.
The second show is on Friday, Oct. 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch courtyard at 350 West Georgia St.
In posts promoting the Oct. 9 performance, he said, “I’m volunteering to do this because I think it’s extremely fun and the glass reverb is so perfect for the soprano saxophone,” and added, “I also think it’d be nice if everyone checked out a book from the library before I play and you can read it during the performance.”
