Canucks sign Kole Lind to AHL deal with Abbotsford

The Abbotsford Canucks signed forwards Kole Lind and Sean Chisholm to one-year contracts ahead of the 2026-27 AHL season.

The Story

The Abbotsford Canucks have signed forwards Kole Lind and Sean Chisholm to one-year contracts ahead of the 2026-27 AHL season, according to an announcement made by Abbotsford general manager Richard Seeley on Oct. 2, 2026.

The team signed Lind to a one-year AHL contract on Friday, hours before the start of the regular season.

At 27, Lind will be the oldest forward and second-oldest player on Abbotsford’s roster, behind only defenceman Jimmy Schuldt.

Lind was originally drafted by Vancouver at the 2017 NHL Draft after other teams passed on him; Vancouver selected him 33rd overall in the second round.

After a strong junior showing, including 95 points in 58 WHL games in his post-draft year, Lind was considered among the Canucks’ top prospects at the time, alongside Olli Juolevi, Jonathan Dahlen and Adam Gaudette.

The evidence provided says Lind’s development later plateaued and that he went on to play a handful of NHL games with the Canucks before appearing for 24 more games with the Seattle Kraken.

In the minor leagues, Lind reached a career high in 2022-23, scoring 30 goals and 65 points with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

The evidence also notes Lind recorded 31 points in 26 playoff games to lead the AHL playoffs in scoring in 2022-23.
