The Story
Langley RCMP say they are investigating a homicide that took place outside a restaurant in Langley late Monday evening.
Police said first responders were called to the parking lot of the Cactus Club Cafe, located on 200 Street near the Langley Bypass, at around 9:45 p.m.
RCMP said officers found one person in medical distress, and despite life-saving efforts, the individual died at the scene.
Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in.
After the homicide response, RCMP said officers responded just after 10 p.m. to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of 232 Street and 75 Avenue.
Police said they are working to determine whether there are any links between the vehicle fire and the shooting.
As of Tuesday, officers remained in the area as the investigation continued, and IHIT asks anyone with information to call 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
