Burnaby RCMP say a man smashed windows on 16 cars at the Brentwood Mall parkade just before 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The Story

Burnaby RCMP say they were called just before 6:30 p.m. to the parkade at Brentwood Mall after several reports from witnesses of windows breaking.

Police said 16 cars had their windows smashed.

RCMP and Brentwood Security searched for the suspect after receiving a description from witnesses, but the man left the area before officers arrived.

Investigators said they have obtained CCTV footage from the area and are also looking for any dashcam footage from the parkade.

RCMP said they are not releasing images of the suspect at this time, adding that they may do so in the future.

Cpl. Mike Kalanj said, “We will first attempt to identify the suspect internally, through local and provincial channels.”
