Spurs aim to extend win streak vs. Trail Blazers after Portland loss to Lakers

San Antonio and Portland meet Saturday night at the Moda Center following the Trail Blazers’ loss to the Lakers.

The Story

The San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers play Saturday, Nov. 7, with tipoff scheduled for 10 p.m. ET at the Moda Center in Portland.

According to betting analyst Chris Walder, both teams enter the matchup on the second night of a back-to-back, and he expects San Antonio to keep rolling as Portland looks to respond after a 124-118 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Walder’s top play is a Spurs spread bet, taking San Antonio -5.5, which he frames as a way to extend the Spurs’ league-best winning streak to eight games. He says the Spurs have won seven straight with a second-ranked offense and third-ranked defense during that stretch, while noting that four of those wins came against the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.

In the Lakers game, Walder reports that Portland blew a 16-point lead before falling by nine, and that Deni Avdija and Damian Lillard each played at least 37 minutes. He adds that the loss snapped Portland’s three-game winning streak.

Walder also points to recent trends in Portland, saying San Antonio has won straight up and covered the spread in each of its last three games in Portland, including two opening-round wins in the 2026 playoffs. He adds that two of those playoff wins were by an average margin of 16.5 points with an average spread of 3.5.

For player props, Walder highlights Julian Champagnie over 7.5 points, explaining that Champagnie recorded a scoreless performance against the Dallas Mavericks on Nov. 4, but adds that he has averaged 12 points over his last six games excluding that game.

Walder also recommends Scoot Henderson under 13.5 points, citing a year-over-year drop in scoring and a low recent shooting volume, along with Henderson’s recent offensive production in starts when Ja Morant was absent.

The betting analyst’s additional market picks referenced in the same report include a Spurs moneyline selection and an Under in the total market at 227 points.
