Alexander Volkanovski defeated undefeated Movsar Evloev by TKO at UFC 333, while Petr Yan retained the bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili.
The Story
Alexander Volkanovski capped UFC 333 with a TKO victory over undefeated contender Movsar Evloev, extending his featherweight resume with a dominant finish over a 20-0 opponent.
At the same event, bantamweight champion Petr Yan retained his title with a unanimous decision win over Merab Dvalishvili to complete their trilogy.
The UFC 333 results also left the door open for multiple matchup possibilities in featherweight and bantamweight, with one post-event argument suggesting future bouts such as Volkanovski against Jean Silva for the featherweight title, Yan versus Sean O’Malley for a bantamweight rematch, and a non-title bout pairing Merab Dvalishvili with Song Yadong.
