Northern Cafe and Grill in Vancouver has announced an indefinite closure due to a plumbing problem and says it does not yet have a confirmed reopening date.
The Story
Northern Cafe and Grill, a restaurant in Vancouver’s southeastern corner that management described as operating in a lumber yard, has announced it will remain closed indefinitely after a plumbing issue left the business without water.
In a post shared on social media when the issue was first announced over the weekend, the restaurant’s management said the problem was related to the challenges of an almost 80-year-old building and that it was working to resolve the matter, but did not know when it could reopen.
On Sept. 30, Northern Cafe said the closure would be extended. In a message posted on Facebook, management said, “We had hoped to have better news by now. The plumbing repairs may take several weeks, and Northern Cafe remains temporarily closed,” and added, “We don’t have a confirmed reopening date yet.”
Management said repairs will take time and indicated the restaurant will continue posting updates on social media for customers looking to return.
