Surrey Fire Services says it knocked down a Thursday night house fire in Bridgeview after crews found heavy smoke on the first and second floors.
The Story
Surrey Fire Services (SFS) says it responded to a house fire in the Bridgeview neighbourhood on Thursday night and brought the blaze under control.
The department said crews were called to a home in the area of Olsen Road near Old Yale Road at about 11 p.m.
SFS reported that when crews arrived, they found heavy smoke on the first and second floors. Nobody was inside the home at the time, the department said, adding that one person was believed to have been displaced.
Crews said the fire completely “gutted” the house, with smoke visible from the roof and damage to the home reported in scene photos.
BC Emergency Health Services said an ambulance was sent to the scene on standby, but no patients were taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire is unclear.
