Air Canada says four U.S. routes will be removed from its schedule starting summer 2027

Air Canada plans to discontinue four U.S. routes from Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal beginning summer 2027.

The Story

Air Canada says it will remove four routes from its flight schedule starting summer 2027, affecting departures from Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.

The affected routes are Vancouver to Nashville, Tennessee; Vancouver to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Toronto to Charleston, South Carolina; and Montreal to Seattle, Washington.

The airline said travellers will still be able to fly to Nashville, Raleigh-Durham and Seattle with Air Canada from other Canadian airports.

However, Air Canada did not clarify whether flights to Charleston will remain available from another Canadian city.

Air Canada’s route changes come as travel between Canada and the United States remains weaker than in earlier years. Statistics Canada data cited in the announcement shows that Canadian-resident return trips from the U.S. in July were 25.6 per cent lower than in the same month in 2024.

The same Statistics Canada figures indicate that U.S. residents travelled to Canada by air 701,800 times in August.
