Vancouver artist Sophia Stel releases debut full-length LP on A24 music label

Vancouver artist Sophia Stel released her debut full-length LP on the music label of A24, following prior singles including “Bitches Talk Shit” and “Power.”

The Story

Vancouver artist Sophia Stel released her debut full-length LP on A24’s music label on Friday, expanding on earlier work with a 12-track album that runs 46 minutes.

The release was preceded by singles “Bitches Talk Shit,” “Molly in the Club” and “I Do.” “Power” was also released as a single on Friday, with its own music video.

Before the LP, Stel’s EPs Object Permanence (2024) and How to Win at Solitaire (2025) gained traction with listeners and tastemakers. Her March 2025 single “I’ll Take It” also circulated widely online.

The new album comes after Stel’s earlier breakthrough moments, including a surprise DM from Lorde that led to Stel opening for Lorde at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles in May 2026.

Stel’s alternative pop sound blends lo-fi dance beats with spaced-out vocals tinged with autotune, with lyrics that often focus on romance, partying and hazy self-reflection.

Stel also has ties to the fashion world. She walked the runway in October 2025 for a collection by Stefano Gallici, creative director at Ann Demeulemeester, and has launched her own merch that includes boxer briefs, which have long sold out.

Stel grew up in Saanich on Vancouver Island before moving to Vancouver.
