Michelin Guide names AnnaLena Vancouver’s first two-Michelin-star restaurant for 2026

The Michelin Guide’s 2026 selections add AnnaLena as Vancouver’s first two-Michelin-star restaurant.

The Story

The Michelin Guide has released its 2026 restaurant selection for Vancouver, naming AnnaLena as the city’s first two-Michelin-star restaurant, according to the guide.

The guide quotes Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, saying, “Today we celebrate reaching new heights for Vancouver, with the first Two-Starred restaurant being awarded to AnnaLena.”

AnnaLena is located in Kitsilano and operates as a tasting menu restaurant owned by Chef Michael Robbins, with Operations Manager Jeff Parr.

The Michelin Guide says AnnaLena has been recognized as one of En Route’s Top 10 New Restaurants in its opening year and has been listed as one of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants.

In describing the restaurant, the guide says it does not feature white tablecloths or a formal atmosphere, and highlights its “seasonally inspired tasting menu.” It also points to examples including peak-season Sungold tomatoes with house-made XO sauce and caramelized buttermilk infused with Thai green curry, as well as fresh pasta with charcoal-roasted asparagus and sauce vin blanc poured tableside.

The Michelin Guide also awarded Bib Gourmand distinctions to two new restaurants. The guide says Kavita, led by Mumbai-born chef Tushar Tondvalkar, received the distinction, and Chef’s Choice Seafood Restaurant was promoted to a Bib Gourmand eatery.

For Michelin-recommended restaurants, the guide lists new spots including Jay Nok, Jeju, Niwa, and Peya.
