Gabby Williams scored eight of her 16 points in overtime as the Golden State Valkyries turned a game that had tilted heavily toward Las Vegas into an 87-77 comeback win Friday night at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Golden State trailed by 11 at halftime, won the third quarter 17-7 and then closed overtime with far more composure than the Aces.

The WNBA announced on Oct. 8, 2026 that Las Vegas Aces center-forward A’ja Wilson has been named the 2026 Kia WNBA Most Valuable Player, extending her league record to five MVP awards and making her the first player to win in three consecutive seasons.
The WNBA says the league’s end-of-season awards are continuing over the coming days and weeks and has published a look at 12 players it lists among the top candidates for the All-WNBA First Team, an honor for the five best regular-season performers regardless of position. The list includes Shakira Austin, Paige Bueckers, Veronica Burton, Caitlin Clark, Rhyne Howard, Olivia Miles, Kelsey Mitchell, Angel Reese, Breanna Stewart, Gabby Williams, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young.
The WNBA has scheduled Game 1 of its 2026 Semifinals for Sunday, with the Atlanta Dream hosting the New York Liberty at 2 p.m. ET on ABC, followed by the Golden State Valkyries hosting the Las Vegas Aces at 4 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock.
The 2026 WNBA playoffs first round reaches its next turning point on Friday when the Golden State Valkyries and Dallas Wings play Game 3 with the winner advancing to the Second Round. The matchup follows a Round One that reshuffled expectations across the bracket, including upsets and series finales decided by both regulation and overtime.
The WNBA announced on Oct. 1, 2026 that Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese has been named the 2026 Kia WNBA Defensive Player of the Year for the first time, with Reese receiving 46 votes from a national panel.
Kelsey Mitchell’s scoring for Indiana, A’ja Wilson’s two-way production and Olivia Miles’ playmaking illustrate three contrasting contributions as the WNBA regular season nears its finish.
